Snapshot Games announced that Phoenix Point is coming to GOG.

Official Phoenix Point website: https://phoenixpoint.info/

Phoenix Point is the new strategy game from Julian Gollop, the designer of the original X-COM series.

Phoenix Point puts players in the midst of a desperate fight to take back the Earth from a mutating, alien menace. Featuring turn-based tactical combat on procedurally generated maps, and resource management on a global scale, Phoenix Point offers endless replayability and a brutal challenge.

Announcement on the official Phoenix Point Facebook profile:

Heads up Phoenix operatives! We’re coming to GOG.com!
Excited to announce Phoenix Point: Year One Edition will also be available on http://GOG.com this December 3rd.
Stay tuned for more updates as we head into our final two-week stretch!

More (citation from Phoenix Point website):

Phoenix Point Year One Edition will now release on December 3, 2020 on Steam, EGS and GOG.com, one week earlier than planned. You can wishlist the game today here: [----evil link to gaseous water website redacted, it offended some users.----]
The reason - we moved to avoid Cyberpunk 2077. Moving the game up is not without its risks, but we believe that this is best for our fans and that we can exceed your expectations on Year One Edition - without crunching - even on this new timeline.

Man, that was long overdue, especially after their Epic stunt!

Your post:
* Fails to describe what sort of game "Phoenix Point" is.
* Fails to provide a useful link that would have that information (facebook links don't count as useful).

Lone_Scout: Grumpy teacher mode?
Well, he might be grumpy, but facebook is as useful as tits on a radscorpion.
Hmm... come to think of it, every social media platform is useless.
Phoenix Point is an XCom like game.
Let's see if backers will get the GOG keys they've promised.

I received a backer survey a few hours ago. The option of a GOG key was available.

It's an XCOM clone.
Alas, I've largely lost my interest in Phoenix Point during its one year GOG release delay. I may put it on my wishlist and wait for some future sale, but I don't know whether I'm still interested enough in the game to actually buy it.

I agree, but that’s the platform where Snapshot Games announced it. It’s not the first odd decision they have made, but that’s not my fault.

Good, except that I'm not a sir.

Edit: Could everyone who downrated this post please explain?

Promised (and even shipped an early build) then ditched Linux support citing the laziest most pathetic of lame excuses.

And even those came only after a linux gaming journo advised them to put at least some sort of a press release up.. Apparently they were just going to silently forget it ever was there

By no means a unique situ this with devs unfortunately... still felt obliged to chime in and whine a bit. Feeling better now, thanks. Over.

Thank you for pointing that out. Found the survey in the spam folder.
90% off and I'll get it.
Scummy devs. :/

Ancient-Red-Dragon: It's an XCOM clone.
To be a bit more accurate, it's an X-COM clone from Julian Gollop, the designer of the original X-COM, that aims to bring back the depth and complexity that the modern XCOM games were missing, while bringing in some of the QoL and interface improvements from XCOM.

It was one of my most anticipated games in years until the whole Epic thing happened. It didn't get great reviews at launch, but we'll see if things have improved during the year it spent in paid Beta.
