Hello,

I've been using GOG Galaxy for years now and I recently decided to get back to playing some GOG games I own and I saw that none of the GOG games I play have their playtime or last played updated.

Both of my games still show as last played two years ago and their playtime doesn't increase at all even if I play for more than an hour.
The games are A Story About My Uncle and Cyberpunk 2077.

It would be nice to at least have it for Cyberpunk since I'm going to be playing it a lot.

I already added everything requested my Windows exceptions as the GOG support page says but to no avail.
Also I start the games through GOG Galaxy as usual, it used to track properly before. It still updates properly for Steam.
I'm on Windows 11 latest version if it changes anything.
No background software running except for Discord, Steam, ProtonVPN, DS4Windows, Wallpaper Engine and MSI Aftrerburner. I already tried to close them all but the result was the same.

Any idea? Thanks

Since I specifically deactivated this function because I don't want that: Did you check your Galaxy settings?

options -> gog.com-games -> game functions
It's the second option from below
Yes everything is checked. I didn't change anything and it used to work before

Does the "play" button become grey after launching the game?
One of my friends had the same problem but I don't know how he fixed the issue
Yes it becomes grey and only becomes available again a few seconds after I close the game, just like normal.
Also I don't know if it's just me or if it's related but I used to be able to press SHIFT + TAB to open GOG's overlay and now it doesn't do anything. I also don't get any GOG notifications bottom right of my screen.

I contacted the support yesterday I hope they can find what the issue is.
If I fix it I will post again here

The overlay is game dependent, but if it is supported and doesn't show up there is something going wrong...

For some time I had your same issue with cyberpunk, where it launched without overlay but the "play" button didn't stay grey for more than a few seconds. Maybe you can find something useful in the Galaxy logs, since support may reply in a week or so, it all depends how many requests they have to solve from Christmas...

Resxt: MSI Aftrerburner

MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner are known to disable the GOG Galaxy overlay. Odds are whatever you did to close it wasn't enough. Consider temporarily uninstalling it, as a troubleshooting step.

I closed it completely and it's still the same. Uninstalling it didn't help either and even if it did I need it to monitor my fans
I reinstalled GOG Galaxy and now the SHIFT +Tab overlay is back along with notifications saying the game is being synchronized on the cloud etc but the play time and the last played time are still not updating.

I installed a Windows 11 VM and it was working so idk what to do anymore, all sofware are closed on my PC so I don't see how it would conflict with anything and Windows Defender (my only antivirus) is disabled as well.

After restarting my PC it seems to work now. Looks like reinstalling solved it for whatever reason, maybe conflicting integration

I guess we'll never know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Recently, we’ve seen a couple of voices raising concerns about GOG GALAXY problems in regard to tracking your playtime properly. It’s a small scale issue which doesn’t affect all players, however we still wanted to let you know that we’re working on resolving this as fast as we can. To do this properly though, we need a little bit more time.

Having said that, it is very important for us to let you know that this doesn’t negatively affect the data we are collecting such as your playtime or achievements – while the Team is actively looking for the best solution to tackle this issue, we promise to keep you updated if there are any changes.

Sorry to bump an ancient thread.

I just wanted it to be noted, this seems to still be an issue. I manually added a game I purchased that is not being tracked by GOG Galaxy.
Maybe it's worth noting I've created and linked a .bat file that calls the game through Steam so I'm able to use Steam's overlay and controller support as some of these games are older, however I am only seeing this issue with a single game and not all of the others that I've added this way so I don't believe that has affected it.

Thank you for the help!
